 PERMANENT IMMIGRATION

  CANADIAN ECONOMIC CLASS

Canada has one of the most positive immigration policies in the world and welcomes more than 200,000 new immigrants each year. Canada offers a wide range of federal and provincial immigration programs. The main program of Canada's immigration system is known as Express Entry. Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to manage applications for permanent residence in Canada through certain economic immigration programs. All immigration programs managed under the Express Entry system have different eligibility criteria. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria submit an online profile called Expression of Interest (EOI) under one of Canada's 3 federal immigration programs or one of the provincial immigration programs participating in the Express Entry Pool .
Candidate profiles are ranked in relation to each other according to a points-based system called the Global Ranking System (GRS). Top-ranked applicants will be considered for an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
The federal government's goal is to process full PR applications in just 6 months.
Entering the Express Entry Pool does not guarantee an invitation to apply, as applicants must meet all the requirements and eligibility. Upon entering the pool, candidates are awarded a CRS score based on different factors. The highest ranked candidates are regularly selected and invited to apply for permanent residence.

FAMILY SPONSORSHIP

Moving abroad and leave your loved ones is a difficult decision to make. One of the government of Canada's goals is to ensure family reunification. Some family members may be eligible to settle in Canada in the long term and become permanent residents in the family class. You may be eligible to sponsor a child, spouse or common-law partner living outside or within Canada if you are 18 years of age or older and are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
When you sponsor a family member, whether it is your dependent child, spouse or common-law partner, you are committed to support them financially. Therefore, it is important to have a job that can help you cover certain costs. Sponsoring a family member in Canada is an important commitment because you have to sign a commitment.

Sponsor requirements

  • At least 18 years

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or registered Indian citizen

  • Meet the Low Income Cut-off (LICO) - for the past 12 months

  • Sign a commitment promising to provide the basic requirements of the sponsored person

  • Sign an agreement with the sponsored person

  • Able to prove that you are not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability

  • Can provide for the basic needs of anyone you sponsor

Note: There is no low-income threshold (LICO) for spousal, common-law or dependent child sponsorships, unless a dependent child also has one or more dependent children.

  • Sponsored a former spouse or partner and three years have not elapsed since that person became a permanent resident

You can sponsor some parents to come to Canada if you meet all the requirements.
Husband, common-law partner, conjugal partner
Dependent child
parents
grandparents
Brother-sister
Niece Nephew
Child to adopt in Canada

External sponsorship of the spouse

The spousal sponsorship program is the most requested component in the family immigration class. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is a strong advocate of family reunification. Processing spouses' sponsorship applications is therefore a top priority at Canadian visa offices. The immigration authorities will issue the main applicant with a Canadian spousal visa (confirmation of permanent residence).
The applicant (sponsored person) will become a permanent resident upon arrival in Canada and must enter Canada before the expiry date on the temporary visa.

Internal spouse sponsorship

If you wish to apply for spousal sponsorship in Canada, the application is processed first and once approved, the applicant's status will change from temporary to permanent. Sponsoring a spouse in Canada gives a sponsored person living in Canada to apply for an open work permit.

QUEBEC ECONOMIC CLASS

Under an agreement with the federal government, Quebec sets its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who are likely to successfully settle in Quebec.
If you want to go to Quebec as a skilled worker, you must follow two steps. You must first apply to the Quebec government for a Quebec Selection Certificate (QSC). A Quebec selection certificate is a document that indicates that you have been selected by the province of Quebec. After obtaining your CSQ, you must submit your application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, where immigration authorities will assess medical and security checks.

There are two skilled worker programs in Quebec:

1. Quebec Experienced Program (accelerated program)

There are two components to this program:

Quebec graduates:

You may be eligible for a CSQ if you have a qualifying Quebec diploma and have at least an intermediate knowledge of French;

Temporary workers:

You may be eligible for a CSQ if you are currently in an eligible job, have held an eligible full-time job for at least 12 of the past 24 months, and have at least an intermediate knowledge of French.

2. Regular skilled worker selection program

This program is based on a points system. All candidates are assessed  against a Quebec selection grid that awards points based on some selection factors. Applicants must complete the minimum points required to qualify.

 CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

If you're looking for a country to live and feel at home: Canada is for you. Canada is a multicultural country where more than 200 ethnic groups live together and where 1 in 5 people were born abroad.
Canadian citizens enjoy many benefits at home and abroad. When you are a citizen, you can travel with a Canadian passport, vote in Canadian elections and stay abroad without worrying about meeting Canadian residency requirements.
The main requirement for applying for Canadian citizenship is to have three years of Canadian residency within five years of applying.
In the past, applications for Canadian citizenship followed a very simple process.
Many citizenship applications are now being further examined to determine whether the applicant is actually meeting the three-year residency requirement.
Some documents should be included with an application for Canadian citizenship even if Immigration Canada does not specify what those documents are.
If you are considering applying for Canadian citizenship or if you are having problems with your current application, for example, try to prove your 3-year residency, please contact us. We can help you with your application to minimize the stress that Canadian immigration officers can create.
